Angela Howard
Artistic Director/Director.Angela has been involved in theatre as a professional actress, singer, and dancer for over 35 years. Angela graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Theatre from the University of Missouri-Columbia. From 1975 to 1979, she performed with Melange Dance Ensemble under the direction of Rori Bialek. In 1979 she began teaching dance and theatre movement. A move to San Diego, CA in 1982 opened opportunities to continue teaching and performing, as well as working professionally as a makeup artist in theatre and film. In 1992, Angela moved to Columbia and began teaching with Debbie Baldwin through Columbia Entertainment Company. She has performed at CEC, Maplewood Barn, and Summer Rep at the University, as well as doing numerous commercials and radio voiceovers. Since 1998 she has directed over 30 shows with a number of area theatre companies, schools and churches. In addition to her work with PACE, she is a member of the Educational Theater Association. Angela has taught theatre at LEAD's Teen Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the summer and makeup workshops at the Missouri School for the Deaf. She direct 2 - 3 productions a year for PACE, and began the annual Arts in Health program.
Trent Rash
Trent Rash, a native of Shelbina, MO, is currently finishing a Masters of Music degree in Vocal Performance at the University of Missouri, where he also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education in 2004. Past roles in scenes performances with the Mizzou Show-Me Opera Company include Albert Herring in Albert Herring, Timothy in The Globolinks, Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte and Des Grieux in Manon. Trent has had the pleasure of singing the roles of Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Pierre in The Wandering Scholar, and Nemorino in L’elisir D’amore, in full Show-Me Opera Theatre productions. Memorable past musical theatre roles include Issachar/Baker in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Rooster Hannigan in Annie, and Ugly (the Duckling) in Honk!. Trent was one of thirty singers nationally to be selected to sing in a Jerry Herman master class at the 2003 Music Educators National Convention in Minneapolis, MN. Other solo engagements include appearances in the Odyssey Chamber Music Series and as the tenor soloist in Bach’s Magnficat and Handel’s Messiah. Trent made his directorial debut with the Columbia Entertainment Company production of the musical The Klemperers’ New Clothes, winner of the 2003 Jackie White National Children’s Playwrighting Competition. His past experiences with PACE have been as music director for Oklahoma!, music director and director of CATS, and music director and orchestra conductor for The King and I. Trent serves on the music faculty at Stephens College as a voice teacher and musical theater coach.
Jacqueline Rash
Jacqueline relocated from Phoenix, AZ to Columbia, MO to receive her BFA in Dance from Stephens College in 2002. Upon graduation, she worked as an admissions counselor for her alma mater. Moving to Chicago in 2004, she danced with Korzatkowski Contemporary Dance Company. She returned to Columbia in 2006 to start a new adventure – motherhood and has combined this vocation with dance by choreographing for many local musical productions. Hickman High School’s State Fair and PACE’s production of CATS are two of her most recent undertakings. Jacqueline is excited to share her talents in the PACE program by teaching classes in ballet, jazz, and theatre dance.
Maggie Killian
Maggie has recently moved back to Columbia after spending the last few years in the "Great White North" of St. Paul, MN. While she was away she toured with CLIMB Theatre, an issue based theatre serving schools across the nation, and helped found Intergenerational Theatre Productions, whose mission was to bring preschoolers, seniors and everyone in between together to learn about drama. Her education includes a BA in Theatre Design from MU, training at the Stella Adler Conservatory in NY, NY, and the Bristol Academy of Performing Arts. She is pleased to be back in mid-MO and working again for PACE!
Katharine Sheptor
Katharine Sheptor graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a BA in Theatre in 2005. Some of her favorite roles at Mizzou include Cinderella in Into the Woods, Lady Sneerwell in The School for Scandal, Nancy in Oliver, and Phillia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. As a student, Katharine directed and designed for both main stage and workshop productions. In 2005, Katharine performed as Martha Cratchit in 2005 with Nebraska Theatre Caravan's North East tour of A Christmas Carol. Katharine has taught theatre arts to youngsters in the community since 1999. Her P.A.C.E Youth Theatre directing credits include Beauty & the Beast, Oklahoma, and most recently A Christmas Story. Katharine has designed costumes for many P.A.C.E. productions including Beauty & The Beast, The Miracle Worker, The Stinky Cheese Man and other Fairly Stupid Tales, and most recently School House Rock, Jr. Katharine spent two years working as the Box Office and Administrative Manager/Director of Education at the Missouri theatre Center for the arts. Katharine currently works in the Stephens College costume shop and lives happily with her lovable husband-John, old dog-Buster, and quirky cat-Lucy.
Debbie Kindle
Debbie Kindle is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in Music Education with a major in voice and a minor in piano. She completed a Master in Music Education at the University of Oklahoma, where she was a graduate instructor in the music education department, again with an emphasis in voice and piano. She has performed with Lyric Theatre in Oklahoma City, Theatre Tulsa, Oklahoma State Opera Company, and Maplewood Barn Theatre in Columbia. Debbie has taught both vocal and instrumental music in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri for the past 30 years and has also taught private voice and piano at the Eastwood Music Conservatory as well as having private studios throughout her career. She has just finished eight years as the Upper School Choral Director at Columbia Independent School. Before joining the staff at CIS, she was the music instructor at Christian Chapel Academy in Columbia, where she began the choir and band programs as well as teaching all of the elementary music classes. During these past 30 years she has directed numerous student musical performances.
Debbie’s experiences with P.A.C.E. include the musical direction of “Redwall” and “Annie, Jr.” as well as director/musical director of “Aladdin, Jr.”
