Children's Dance
Combination Dance - Ages 3-4
When: Monday 4:45pm
Instructor: Jacqueline Rash
Learning dance through imagination and visualization, children will gain fundamental steps in ballet, tap and jazz. Using the natural curiosity of children, we will start with literal interpretations for movement to nursery rhymes and move to more abstract movements to songs. Both energetic and quiet children will enjoy this class as we engage mind and body. This class is 45 minutes.
Combination Dance - Ages 5-6
When: Tuesday 5pm
Instructor: Ann Stippec
This class will introduce the children to some of the basic forms of dance. Ballet vocabulary will be presented to them, challenging them to remember the names of positions and steps from week to week. Fun, energetic music will highlight the jazz portion of the class, allowing the students to release their energy and use their creativity. Finally, the students will get to make a little noise during the tap segment of the class. They will learn about rhythm and finding the beat in the music, and work to accomplish the task of making their own music with their feet.
Combination Dance - Ages 7-9

They will learn about the importance of stretching their muscles out, and also have some fun working on short combinations of movement. Ending with tap, the students will be presented with the idea of rhythm. They will learn the importance of being able to keep time with the music, and work to establish the connection between the music and their movement.
