The Audition Experience
Auditions are a wonderful way for students to gain self-confidence and experience in performing in front of people. PACE encourages every student to participate in auditions. We offer free audition workshops before every production to help students prepare for auditions. Although we will work very hard to cast everyone who tries out, our policy is to prepare our students for the genuine audition experience of most theatres. Our Dabbler class productions do not require auditions and are an excellent way for students who are new to theatre to experience a production and improve their skills.
It is important to understand what is expected at an audition and what will be expected if you are cast in a PACE production. Students should read the attached Audition and Production Information guidelines. It is also important for parents to understand the audition process and what they can do (or not do) to help. Please read From Audition to Production: Parent Do's and Don'ts. Be sure to bring a completed Audition form and a Medical Release form to the audition.
