Megan has been involved in the arts all her life. She attended Emporia State University in Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre in 1997, then went on to get her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from West Virginia University in their conservatory program. Upon graduation, she earned a place as a professional touring actor with KEY Players Theatre Company (Keep Empowering Youth) based in North Carolina. She was promoted from touring company to Managing Artistic Director and took on casting, training, directing and managing the touring company. Megan explored the visual arts world as the Membership and Volunteer Services Coordinator for the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art (SECCA) in Winston-Salem, NC. While working for both KEY and SECCA, Megan was active as a freelance director with local theatre companies in the area. As a result of her success directing the Oklahoma! for the Davie County Arts Council, she was offered the position of executive director of the Davie County Arts Council in Mocksville, NC. Additionally, she was responsible for booking a performing arts series for the Brock Performing Arts Center as well fundraising and grant writing for DCAC. When her husband finished his doctorate at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, he took a job with Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK. Upon moving, Megan was hired as the director of the Sequoyah Institute at Northeastern State University. As director, she was responsible for booking the annual performing arts series and managing the summer performance series. She became involved in the presenting world becoming one of the founding members of the Oklahoma Presenters Network. While in Oklahoma, Megan continued to direct freelance and be involved in community organizations while doing voiceover work and some performing. In fall of 2009, her husband became the jazz professor at MU and they moved to Columbia. Megan looks forward to working with all the amazing young people and their parents at P. A. C. E. while getting as involved as possible in the arts community in Columbia.
