We're glad you asked! Performing Arts in Children's Education was formed in December, 2003 with the express desire of developing a youth theatre program uniquely and exclusively for young people. Most theatre programs for children are under the umbrella of a parent organization that primarily accommodates adult actors with the youth program as its secondary focus. PACE offers high quality entertainment for all ages.
Our mission drives everything we do! So, here it is . . . PACE encourages, enriches, and educates young people of all backgrounds through high quality theatrical opportunities designed to develop individual artistic talents as well as supporting the students' overall personal growth and development.
Theatre teaches teamwork, problem solving, personal responsibility, value of diversity, and community involvement. These experiences, in turn, build students' self-esteem, self-control, adaptability, perseverance, critical thinking and social skills.
PACE classes adhere to the philosophy, goals and objectives of the American Alliance for Theatre and Education (AATE). Class guidelines are based on current practice, research and the expertise of more than 70 project contributors from across the nation.
